Rubeena Singh is a Registered Speech Language Pathologist, with a background in neuroscience. She has been practicing as an RSLP in Toronto and Vancouver for the past seven years. Rubeena is passionate about children developing their most effective communication skills. Strong communication skills help us to understand what others are saying, and express our needs and wants, so we can connect with others around us. Come share a cup of tea as we cover various topics in speech and language development, including how kids learn to speak, what to do if your child is not speaking like others, what are executive functions and how do they affect your child's progress at home and at school.

Sat Jan 26 (6-7pm): Preschoolers Learning to Talk
This gathering dives deep into typical and atypical language development of preschoolers; children from 0-5 years of age. Parents and caregivers can learn how the brain learns to communicate, and what they can do to help foster this development.

Sat Feb 2 (6-7pm): Executive Functions in Preschoolers
What are parts of the brain that allows us to make decisions and achieve goals? Let's talk a little bit about executive functions and what you can do as parents and caregivers,  including which games to play, to help your child develop strong and resilient adaptive skills.

Sat Feb 16 (6-7pm): Speech and Language Development in School-Aged Children
If your child or children are in school, what does their language processing look like? Are they following directions, remembering what was said to them, writing rich stories and sharing with you what's happening in their school day? Let's talk about speech and language development in the school-aged years (Kindergarten - Grade 3)
Sat Mar 9 (6-7pm): Executive Functions in School-Aged Children
Are your children disorganized, constantly late, or missing parts of work? Let's talk about how the brain integrates information from assignments, and the powerful role of visualizing and then verbalizing the plan in order to achieve a goal.
